Nonbinary Voices for TDOV: Video Deadline

Nonbinary Voices for Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV)

Submission Deadline: 11:59 PM on February 27, 2026

About the Project

For Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV), Diamond Wave and THEYFRIEND are gathering voices from across the nonbinary community in a collective video to remind each other that we are not alone.

We are many, we are expansive, and we are worthy of love, care, joy, and celebration.

This call is open to all nonbinary people, however you identify and however you arrived here. There is no one right way to be nonbinary. We want the messy, the joyful, the emo, and the still-figuring-it-out.

What We’re Asking For

We’re inviting you to share a short video or audio recording (up to 90 seconds) introducing yourself and responding to one or more of the following prompts:

  • What does nonbinary mean to you?

  • When or how did you know you were nonbinary?

  • What “flavor” of nonbinary are you?

You’re also welcome to include music, photos, images, or other visuals that help celebrate your nonbinary self - your body, your joy, your survival.

There is no one right way to participate; feel free to submit whatever centers your ability and safety.

These submissions will be woven together into a collective love letter, a reflection of how wide, creative, and powerful our nonbinary community truly is.

How to Participate

Please begin your video or audio by sharing your name and pronouns. After that, repeat the question you’re responding to, then share your answer.

  • Your response(s) should be 10 - 45 seconds.

  • Short responses are perfect. One sentence is enough.

  • You are welcome to respond to one, two, or all three questions, there is no expectation to answer everything.

  • Share only what feels safe.

  • You do NOT need to repeat your name and pronouns.

  • Your entire video should be no more than 90 seconds in length.

Once you’ve recorded your video, you can upload your video, audio or other media to this form.

We’re centering many voices in this process. While we may not be able to include every submission, we will do our best to honor the breadth and beauty of our nonbinary community. There’s no need to be polished, speak from the heart. Submissions may be edited for length and clarity while honoring your voice and intention.

  • Hi, my name is Jenna Neutral, and my pronouns are they/them.

“What does nonbinary mean to you?”

To me, nonbinary means freedom from traditional gender norms. It means I get to define myself outside of expectations about who I’m supposed to be.

“When or how did you know you were nonbinary?”

There wasn’t one big moment. It was more like a slow realization that “woman” didn’t quite fit, and neither did “man.” Learning the word “nonbinary” felt like exhaling. It gave me language for something I’d felt for a long time.

Accessibility + Privacy

If video or audio isn’t accessible to you, written submissions are welcome and will be read aloud by THEYFRIEND advisors. If you need help recording or uploading, email Vin Seaman at vin@diamond-wave.org.

We want this project to be as accessible and safe as possible. You may:

  • Use your full name, first name only, or a pseudonym.

  • Submit audio, video, or written responses.

  • Choose not to appear visually.

  • Let us know any privacy or accessibility preferences in your submission.

By submitting, you agree to allow Diamond Wave to use your name, voice, image, likeness, and any submitted media in the Nonbinary Voices for TDOV video, which will be shared via social media and the Diamond Wave website. Please be sure to review the various submission and privacy options we offer within the form.
