Karaoke Therapy

An interactive workshop exploring authentic voice

Thursday, November 12, 2026
2 - 5 PM
Pacific Felt Factory
3230 20th Street, SF, CA
$20, $15 early bird ends October 31.

Workshop limited to 20 participants.

About the Event

Karaoke Therapy began as a dream that has grown out of working as both a therapist and a karaoke DJ for the last ten years. Workshop facilitator Remi Sunshine curates a supportive space for people to find their authentic voice in the presence of other nonbinary people, or for people to express their rage and grief through song, or for people to build community. There is something about singing together that just helps people let their guard down and connect.

The workshop will open with guided visualization and playful vocal warm ups, helping people choose a song that connects to an emotion they want to express, evoke, or alchemize, and helping people attune to the healing somatic experience of singing with others.

About the Artists

Remi Sunshine (they/them)

Remi Sunshine is a San Francisco-based KJ (karaoke DJ) and licensed psychotherapist. They are a trans, genderqueer drag king who performs in wizard drag as Glitter Daddy. They founded Engender Hope Psychotherapy to provide a safe space for people to explore their gender and heal from trauma. Remi has found singing to be a powerful avenue for embodying their identity and metabolizing the trauma of existing as a trans person in a cisgender-dominated world. Their experience inspired them to create karaoke therapy as a tool to explore identity, process grief and trauma, and connect with others through song.
