In the Face of Fear

A workshop w/ Rawiyah Tariq

Saturday, July 15, 2023
1 - 3 pm PST
In-Person at Harvey Milk Center for the Arts
50 Scott Street, San Francisco, CA 94117

About the Workshop

Interactive workshop led by Rawiyah Tariq exploring tools and rituals designed to turn fear into learning

Fear is something that has great value and, just like any Guardian Spirit, it can turn into a demon. This workshop/roundtable will confront the faces of fear that cause rifts within ourselves and our communities.

On Saturday, July 15, join witch, artist and kink aware professional Rawiyah Tariq for this interactive workshop at Harvey Milk Center for the Arts at 50 Scott Street (adjacent to Duboce Park) in San Francisco.

Rawiyah will present several practical and magical elemental tools and rituals designed to turn fear from the vast ocean that seeks to drown us into a watery mirror we can learn from.

This workshop is for:

  • ✨ Folk who are doing/ want to do things but find #fear (real or imagined) blocking their path.

  • ✨ Folk who desire spiritual or practical tools to deal with the special flavor of f*cked up self sabotage that comes with moving through fear

  • ✨ Folk who want to understand how fear can show up in their lives and how to soothe it without shaming themselves

We defiantly exist, move, love and create in a time of tremendous horror that has us scrambling for anything that resembles the light. Come remember that you are the light. You are the sacred hell and glorious terror to things that go bump in the night.

This event is part of the larger Queer Wellness Symposium happening 12 - 5 PM at Harvey Milk Center for the Arts, and supported by the Kenneth Rainin Foundation and the San Francisco Arts Commission.

Spaces are limited, so make sure to reserve your spot today!

Accessibility: Masks are REQUIRED! This workshop will take place in a well ventilated dance studio with open windows and an air filter in the upstairs of Harvey Milk Center for the Arts (HMCA). HMCA is ADA compliant with wheelchair accessible restrooms and an elevator. Please contact kiana@diamond-wave.org for additional needs or requests.
